CUANDO EL RIO SUENA
Video work composed of two videos and a series of ceramic objects. The film interprets the Magdalena River as a folkloric archive of Colombia, where fiction and real stories flow across the country, passing through the places along the river's banks.
The first video presents the river as a mythological creature that flows through a diverse range of landscapes and witnesses a wide realm of stories.
The second video features four stones, inspired by four stories that take place near the river. It is based on the Colombian saying, "cuando el río suena, piedras trae" (when the river sounds, it brings stones), suggesting that part of the river’s sound comes from the stones. This video is accompanied by four ceramic pieces.
Exhibited during Dutch Design Week at Heuvel gallery.
